Ballina is located on the North Coast and Northern River regions of New South Wales and sits right by the Richmond River.
About 750 kilometres north of Sydney and 200 kilometres south of Brisbane, Ballina coast and hinterland has plenty of beaches and lush walking trails that you can enjoy.
Ballina history
Richmond River was a major port from the time Ballina was founded in the 1840s until the mid 20th Century. Now the Richmond River can be enjoyed for cruising its waters or even a bit of fishing.

Visit the Macadamia Castle while you're at Ballina. Between Ballina and Byron Bay, the Macadamia Castle showcases the North Coast's macadamia produce. As well as tastings, you and your family can enjoy the Animal Fun Park and relax in the picnic area or at the cafe in the castle.
